Happy Friday! If your weekend plans include dining at a Mexican restaurant or sipping cocktails on a patio, try my Real Skinny margarita recipe! For so long I avoided the margarita all together, a regular margarita can run up to 700 calories (Mi Cocina’s Mambo Taxi packs just over 700 calories in one drink) and I was never a fan of the Skinny Girl margarita (many restaurants make their version of this drink using artificial sweeteners). A friend of mine introduced me to the concept of mixing my own margarita using just the 2 most vital ingredients in the drink, tequila and lime juice, and thus was born the Real Skinny margarita!
Ingredients
- 1.5 oz. tequila
- 1/8 cup fresh lime juice
Just 108 calories per drink!
When ordering the drink, I order Don Julio Silver on the rocks with a side of lime juice and then mix in the lime juice myself.
